#Angina and Me - the story so far

Two years' wasted attempts to eradicate an inability to walk far without stopping and burping. The anti reflux tablets didn't work.

GP eventually sends me for treadmill test. All becomes clear. Sort of.

3 years ago: angiogram. Well two really. Machine breaks down. Lovely staff at the Hammersmith. Much appreciated.

Asked what I thought of a bypass. Said would prefer stents. Told possible.

Follow up at another hospital. Told no surgical intervention. Am confused because I'd been told I was to have it. Overhear heated discussion and then cardiologist appears and explains.

Condition to be managed medically. Max dose of statins, 80mg. Plus Nicorandil. Aspirin. Ramipril and Bisoprolol.

Letter arrives from hospital, a copy of that sent to GP. Statin dose 40mg. Call Cardiac Nurse who says 80mg much too high and denies that cardiologist said 80mg.

Weeks go by then GP writes to cardiologist who confirm I'm right; he had said 80mg.

Saga continues....
