Don't you just hate it when belittled by GP reception staff?

Don't you hate it when there's an implication that you shouldn't be bothering the GPs? Today's incident is a relatively trivial matter but hey I'm going to tell you about it anyway. I get my medication every two months, ish. The ish is that some packs are for 28 days; others are for 30 days. My last prescription was dated 2nd June. So I'm running out of some meds. With me? Good. Well the GP receptionist wasn't with me. She hadn't got my email requesting a repeat prescription and when told that I'd had an acknowledgement for it, then said I didn't need the meds because the last prescription was June 2nd. I did explain and I did ask her what today's date was. And I was then told that the prescription was going to be ready on Friday. No sorry, we lost your email. No sorry, I made a mistake and forgot that 8 weeks on from 2nd June was yesterday. I'd had quite enough meds thank you, was the message. Don't ask for more! It's enough to bring on angina.....

Strictly Conscience

As some of you long suffering readers will know, I've followed a largely plant based diet for 18th months. I've not gone vegan yet but I think I'd like to. Well soon.

It would be great, for me, if Quorn removed egg white from its products. Then I will have cracked it.

I went veggie to help stop my heart disease getting worse and to test the claims that the condition could be reversed. The jury's still out on that. I have enjoyed the change and I've felt good about it.

But now the Conscience and her family are here - which is wonderful - but now I learn that my green credentials aren't good enough. I've been eating products with palm oil in them. Not much mind you, because I try to keep my fat intake to an absolute minimum.

What's the solution? I'll have to ask my Conscience. Back soon.

Amlodipine, it's over, for now!

It's happened before and I took her back but it's over again!

Amlodipine has been part of my cocktail of stuff minimising the inconvenience of angina but during the recent hot weather my ankles have swelled up and I've felt discomfort. So no more amlodipine for now. GP wants me to keep an eye on my blood pressure though. And I'll track whether I get more angina, too. That GTN spray is in its holster, ready to be used again.

Since Ranolazine was added to my mix and the dosage increased I have used the spray far less.
